It’s that time of the year when we take out our hot water bath and pressure canners to preserve the foods we love. Take advantage of these classes to learn the proper and safe ways of canning at home.

Basics of Home Food Preservation** Refresh or update your knowledge about food preservation, or learn for the first time about safe ways to enjoy the fruits of our land. Free of Cost!

Tuesday, June 19, Session 1: 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. ¦  Session 2: 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.

Hot Water Bath Canning Hands-On Session This method is used for high-acid or acidified foods. Learn how to transform those delicious fruits into jams or jellies for home or to gift. $25                Registration due June 21 by 5:00 p.m.

Session 1: June 26, 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. ¦  Session 2: June 28, 5:00 to 7:30 p.m.

Pressure Canning Hands-On Session This method is used for low-acid foods such as meat, poultry, seafood, and vegetables. Learn about best practices when using this method. $25                    Registration due July 12 by 5:00 p.m.

Session 1: July 17: 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. ¦  Session 2: July 19, 5:00 to 7:30 p.m.

Fermentation Hands-On Session Fermentation has been used to create more palatable foods from less than desirable ingredients. Learn how fermentation works and make it happen. $25        Registration due July 26 by 5:00 p.m.

Session 1: July 31, 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. ¦  Session 2: August 2, 5:00 to 7:30 p.m.
