We will be hosting a FREE workshop for youth interested in competing in project record books on September 27. Record books are a way for 4-Hers to showcase their work in individual projects and earn awards. This awards program is for youth that are between the ages of 9 and 18. Orange County LocalFest is a diverse, family-friendly festival that celebrates and promotes local food, local music, the local economy, and the county’s heritage and culture.
The event will be held at the Blackwood Farm Park on Saturday, September 29, 2018. Live music, cooking demonstrations, local artists and crafters, and educational activities for the whole family will highlight the daylong event.

Wood 101 is a workshop for hobbyists and craftspeople interested in learning about and working with wood for fun or profit. Those interested in carpentry, firewood, wood crafts, and products like decking and furniture will want to participate.
The low registration fee of $45 includes all educational materials, refreshments & lunch, and a complimentary all-day parking pass on campus. The workshop is being held in Hodges Wood Lab on the NCSU campus.
Class size is limited to 30 participants (waiting list will be initiated if necessary)
