Description:

As authorized by Article 50A, Chapter 106 of the General Statutes of North Carolina and as approved by the NC Board of Agriculture, the referendum must be carried out every six years.

Nickels for Know-How is a voluntary assessment of $.15 per ton on fertilizer and feed (inert ingredients only) that generates approximately $1.4 million for extension, research, and academic efforts in the NC State College of Agriculture & Life Sciences. In addition, these funds help provide operating support for our NC State Extension, the NC Agricultural Research Service, and CALS Academic Programs.

Orange County residents should contact Mart Bumgarner at mart_bumgarner@ncsu.edu or 919-245-2062 with any questions.
