Project Learning Tree's flagship activity guide, Explore Your Environment, is often used in classrooms and for structured programming at environmental education centers. But what about summer camps when programming can be a bit more free flowing and not as structured?
Join PLT Facilitators at Piedmont Wildlife Center for a PLT workshop that will focus on PLT's use specifically in summer camps. If you run or work as staff in a full-time summer camp, a week-long summer camp, or teacher workday camps... this workshop is for you! Throughout the workshop, there will be plenty of time for discussion about activity adaptations and use in camp settings from people that have similar experiences in camp settings.
Every participant will leave the workshop with a copy of the guide that includes 50 of PLT's easy to follow multidisciplinary activities that connect students to nature and increase young people’s awareness and knowledge about their environment, a $45 value! This guide includes revised favorites and new activities. Activities in the Explore Your Environment guide are correlated to NC standards in science and social studies. This workshop qualifies for Criteria I or II in the EE Certification Program (K-8).
The PLT activity guides are provided free of charge to participants through support from the NC Forestry Association. If the cost of this workshop is a barrier for you, please reach out to the the NC PLT Coordinator, Renee Strnad, at renee_strnad@ncsu.edu.
