Camille Clark of Hillsborough was elected to serve as the 2021-2022 North Central District 4-H President by her peers this past spring and was installed at the virtual North Carolina 4-H Congress on July 21, 2021. As President, Clark will lead her district officer team to serve 4-H youth members across a 20-county district that includes Orange County. Clark will help to plan leadership and youth development conferences, represent North Carolina 4-H at area events, and recognize fellow members for achievements attained this academic year.
Clark Elected District 4-H President and Earns Gold in Presentations Program
In addition to her election, Camille also earned first place in the 2021 North Carolina 4-H Presentations Program this July. She competed in the Family & Consumer Sciences category where she researched and delivered a speech focused on bitcoin, how it works, and how she thinks it will play a role in the future of our economy. This is the second year that Camille has earned first place at the state level. N.C. Cooperative Extension of Orange County is excited for all that Camille is doing through 4-H. “Our staff could not be more proud of Camille,” says Orange County 4-H Agent Jonathon Smith. “Camille is a student that always seeks out opportunities to grow and develop. She has a true passion for leadership and I know she will represent Orange County well this year as a district officer.”
“I'm extremely honored to serve as North Central District President,” says Clark. “With this position, I will seek to continue the betterment of the District by sustaining and developing connections among youth across our district. I'm grateful for the chance to participate in 4-H Presentations again this year which have allowed me to research topics I'm interested in and enthusiastically share my findings with a wider audience.”
Camille is a rising senior at J.D. Clement Early College in Durham. She is the daughter of Thomas and Christine Clark. To learn more about Orange County 4-H programs, visit go.ncsu.edu/orangecounty4h.
