Orange County 4-H has taken top honors at the 2025 North Carolina State Fair, securing First Place in the 4-H County Exhibit contest. The winning exhibit, entitled "Take A Ride With Orange County 4-H," is a creative exploration of both North Carolina transportation and the many opportunities available to 4-H youth to "learn by doing" as they explore careers, build relationships, and serve their communities.

The exhibit showcases various modes of North Carolina transit—including trains, planes, and ferries—with a spectacular centerpiece: a fully designed and built Ferris wheel.

The exhibit also highlights the many pathways youth explore as Orange County 4-H members, such as STEM programs, Summer Camps, Healthy Living, Leadership, and Agriculture.

The success of this exhibit is a testament to the teamwork within Orange County Cooperative Extension. We specifically want to credit 4-H Program Assistant Kathleen Rogers whose tireless effort and energy were instrumental in creating this first-place display.

The North Carolina State Fair runs from October 16–26 in Raleigh. The Orange County 4-H exhibit is on display in the North Carolina 4-H section of the Commercial & Educational Building, located at the corner of Blue Ridge Road and Hillsborough Street.
