Any youth from Orange County that is planning to exhibit livestock this fall in the NC State Fair Youth Livestock Shows, see the information below regarding the submission of animal DNA samples. Orange County youth should submit animal DNA samples to the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Orange County Center by Monday, July 17, at 5:00 P.M. The office is located at 1020 US Hwy 70 W, Hillsborough (across from DMV).

NC State Fair Youth Meat Goat, Market Sheep, and Market Swine Nomination and Validation Procedures
The procedure for nominating and validating junior meat goats, market sheep, and market swine is similar to that in 2022. Exhibitors should log into FairWire. ***Nominations will be made through ShoWorks, REMEMBER YOUR LOG-IN INFORMATION, YOU WILL USE IT AGAIN TO LOG IN TO COMPLETE YOUR OFFICIAL FAIR ENTRY.

May 15th Online Nominations/Request Nomination Kit Open (ShoWorks-online) for Jr Ewe, Market Lambs, Jr Gilts, Market Barrows, Jr Does, and Market Goats;
June 15thDeadline to request Nomination Kit for Jr Ewe, Market Lambs, Jr Gilts, Market Barrows, Jr Does, and Market Goats 
July 15thNominations & Upload Photo Close (ShoWorks-online) for Jr Ewes, Market Lambs, Jr Gilts, Market Barrows, Jr Does, and Market Goats 
July 17th – Turn in DNA envelopes to an N.C. County Extension Office before 5 p.m. today.
August 15thOnline entries for all NC State Fair Livestock Shows Open;
September 15thNC State Fair Livestock Show Entries Close;
