Empowering the Future of Local Ag

As world leaders address the challenge of feeding the earth’s growing population, Orange County is providing entrepreneurs with both the inspiration and the resources to find solutions.
Each year, Orange County and its North Carolina Cooperative Extension department host a one-day seminar bringing together farmers and suppliers, government officials, and other specialists to explore the state of farming in Orange County and contiguous counties, discussing topics and trends that are impacting our agricultural industry.
This year, the Orange County Agricultural Summit will be held on Monday, February 19, beginning at 8 A.M. at the Cedar Grove Community Center. The conference will conclude at 2 P.M. after a complimentary lunch – locally sourced, of course.
The 2024 Summit will explore, among other issues…
  • Innovative Ways to Manage Input Costs
  • Regenerative Production Methods
  • Farm Finances and Grant Opportunities
  • Land Use Topics
  • Farm Transition
  • Agriculture Opportunities Available in the New Orange County Climate Action Plan
  • Updates from Partners
  • and more!

A plenary session after lunch will focus on the Orange County Land Use Plan 2050 under development. Orange County wants to hear from the agriculture community as it develops this plan.

Agriculture is a vital part of the economy and quality of life in Orange County.
In addition to updates, regional vendors will display their goods and services.
In the event of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled for February 26. All registrants will be notified in advance should a change of date be required.

Questions? Contact N.C. Cooperative Extension – Orange County Center at 919-245-2050 or jonathon_smith@ncsu.edu.
Register Online by February 16.
