Collapse ▲In September 2024, Hurricane Helene caused massive devastation in Western North Carolina, impacting the lives of families, children, and whole communities. As part of the North Carolina 4-H “Helpful Hands, Healing Hearts” initiative, N.C. Cooperative Extension, Orange County Center and its staff, volunteers, 4-H clubs, and county residents will be packing 65 care kits to send to youth in Ashe and Haywood Counties. We invite you to help us by donating items for the kits that will be delivered to children this holiday season. We hope the kits will encourage the youth while providing personal care items and fun activities during these difficult times.
To participate, please sign up at Kits4Kids for the items you want to donate, select the quantity, enter your contact information, and click the “Sign Up Now” button. The items listed are the only items we are accepting at this time. You can choose the quantity of each item you would like to donate. If you see that an item has already been completely filled, please select something else to donate from the list.
AFTER YOU SIGN UP FOR THE ITEMS YOU WILL DONATE, purchase them from your preferred store, or if you would like to purchase and have them shipped directly to our office, you may do so using our Wishlist.
Donations are DUE by Tuesday, November 26, 2024.
